Excellent service and outstanding customer support from Dr. Sankar, Olivia, and Hishan. They truly listened to my needs and preferences, were always responsive, and took exceptional care of me throughout. I highly recommend their services without hesitation.

Excellent. I had braces throughout lockdown. Best choice, best service, best decision. However on two occasions I had a different orthodontists, I'd have liked the same person. Nevertheless still excellent REVIEW 5 YEARS LATER STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. I AM NOT SURE AS TO WHY THE STANDARD HAS DROPPED. Both my adult children have invested a few thousand pounds and both have experienced ill fitting and broken braces and retainers. Unanswered calls, appointments one month away and teeth moving back to the original positions. Sarcasm from staff and people not taking responsibility and lies. Every single conversation has been recorded and the matters will now become legal. Do not invest your time or energy with these people. I could go further but it is apparent they treat people ‘differently’ enough is enough!

After several years of treatment with Dr Shanka, I can confirm, you cannot fault their service. I used to be extremely anxious of the dentist, and I’ve always felt at ease and welcomed here. I am very happy with my results, and having chosen Waldron Dental for my new smile. Thank you Dr Shanka! You are an asset to the practice.

Frequently asked questions

We know you may have questions before starting your teeth whitening journey. To help you feel confident and fully informed, we’ve answered some of the most common questions our patients ask about whitening treatments at Waldron Dental.

What causes teeth to become discolored?

Teeth can become discolored due to various factors, including:

  • Dietary Choices: Consuming foods and beverages like coffee, tea, red wine, and certain berries can stain teeth over time.
  • Tobacco Use: Smoking or chewing tobacco introduces tar and nicotine, which can lead to yellowing of teeth.
  • Aging: As we age, the enamel on our teeth thins, revealing the yellowish dentin beneath.
  • Medications: Certain medications, such as tetracycline antibiotics, can cause intrinsic stains if taken during tooth development.
  • Poor Oral Hygiene: Inadequate brushing and flossing can lead to plaque buildup, which may cause discoloration.
When performed correctly, teeth whitening is generally safe. However, potential side effects include tooth sensitivity and gum irritation. It’s advisable to consult our dental professionals at our New Cross dental pracice before undergoing whitening treatments to ensure they’re appropriate for you and to minimise risks.
The longevity of teeth whitening results varies based on individual habits and the method used. Typically, results can last from several months up to three years. To prolong the effects, maintain good oral hygiene and avoid foods and beverages that can stain teeth.

Common side effects include:

  • Tooth Sensitivity: Temporary sensitivity to hot or cold stimuli may occur but usually subsides after treatment.
  • Gum Irritation: Whitening agents can cause irritation if they come into contact with the gums.

Teeth whitening is not suitable for everyone. Individuals with the following conditions should exercise caution or avoid whitening treatments:

  • Pregnant or Nursing Women: It’s recommended to postpone whitening treatments during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Children Under 16: Whitening is generally not advised for individuals under this age.
  • Dental Restorations: Fillings, crowns, and veneers do not respond to whitening agents, leading to uneven coloration.
  • Sensitive Teeth or Allergies: Those with existing sensitivity or allergies to whitening agents should consult a dentist before proceeding.
